Arek and yoga

Arek arrived last night and we celebrated by eating homemade Mac n’ cheese with fried pork belly.
Matt and Arek drove up to Ucluelet this morning to get some computer work done and take pictures in the rain.
Today, Carla and I did our first class out of ten, of yoga. My body really needs the workout.

Next, we went to Langford for book club at Natalie’s house. She had a lovely spread of meats, cheeses and wine.

Hanger “butcher” steak

Matt, the sweet talker that he is, convinced the Oak Bay Butcher to sell him his most prized piece of the cow. Hanger steak is nicknamed “Butcher steak” because in the past Butchers would keep that cut of beef for themselves. The flavor was sensational.

Valentine’s day crafts

I made banana chocolate muffins for Matt. Baking isn’t my thing, I tried really hard to follow the recipe but ended up “winging it”. Regardless, they turned out fantastic!

I also made a 3D heart card for my man. I do not recommend trying this at home. It was a pain in the a**.

Back in the tent

We’re home and hanging out in our living room tent. I made tomato soup from scratch and it was delicious.

1 can of diced tomato
Half an onion
2 heads of garlic, roasted
Tarragon
Oregano
1 boiled potato
Smoked paprika
A tiny bit of milk
Salt & pepper

I topped the soup with stale baguette and crumbled goat cheese.

Mongolian grill on Davie St

What a great weekend!
Mongolian grill, all you can eat sushi, phó, lots of Ella time, skiing, night club dancing, 80’s dance party, staying up late and to top things off, I got to sit in the co-pilot seat of our seaplane on the way home.

Cypress Hill

It’s been 13 years since I last skiied, I have no idea why I waited so long. It’s like riding a bike, it all comes back to you.
The conditions were perfect and the company even better! I got to watch Ella ski for her second time. She will be flying down the mountain by herself in no time.
