Drunken shopping

Bre and I haven’t hung out in a long time, yesterday’s outing was well overdue.
First, to put us in a festive spirt, we picked up a few Sir Perry ciders.
Next, we headed to the mall in search for the perfect pair of jeans.

Got a grudge on the go? No problem! You can pick yourself up a keychain voodoo doll for only $1.

Cool!

After all the jean excitement (and starting to lose our buzz), we drifted to the cute restaurant on Blanchard called Hope Key. The owners were fantastic, the food was great AND inexpensive, the decor was hilarious and the wine was old and disgusting. Perfect!

Girl’s lunch

Last Thursday, Carla, Matt and I went to the Culinaire food festival and literally pigged out. The one dish that stood out above all was Vis a Vis’ smoked pork belly rillette on an apple crisp (shown bellow).

On Monday, Mom, Carla and I went to the Vis a Vis restaurant to see what else they had to offer.

Celebration was in the air, I had just passed my driving test with flying colours, it was day one of Carla’s week off and mom, well she’s retired and gets to have fun full-time.

apple and blue cheese, rye crostini, open face.

Leek and goat cheese tart, double smoked bacon,

Book club chez Shona

Last Friday night was Shona’s turn to host book club. Her and her mother live in a building very similar to my mom’s building (where I lived before being taken over by Matt’s loving spell). The 55 plus resistance is fitted with psychedelic patterned carpets, lovely plastic floral arrangements and cute elevator signs like the one shown below.

In true Shona fashion, everything was impeccable. The snacks were delicious, the drinks were at the perfect temperature and we each got a take home a goody bag.

Our next book, chosen by Carla, is Women in love by D.H. Lawrence.
