Monster celery root! A farmer saw me taking pictures of food so he grabbed me and ushered me over to his stall to show me his crazy celery root. The thing was as big as a bear’s head.
Best butcher in town I assume.
My latest “pickled” discovery is pickled green tomatoes (not shown in this picture).
At Christmas time Bulgarians fire roast slices of pumpkin then sprinkle them with walnuts, honey and/or feta cheese. Old ladies stand over fires and serve this on almost every street corner.
